Direct Support Professional

Elocin House is seeking outgoing, compassionate, and dedicated individuals to
become part of our diverse team. The Direct Support Professional (DSP) will be
responsible for managing, supervising, and providing direct care to client;
responsible for the safety, welfare, training, and supervision of all people supported
that reside in his/her assigned work location for the assigned shift. The DSP will
also serve as a member of the treatment planning team, providing, and supporting a
structured, consistent, and therapeutic environment.

Duties:
  •               1.  DSP must work well in a team and demonstrate creative problem-solving
                       skills.
                  2. Provide direct care to individual’s daily needs such as dressing, showering
                      and hygiene, cooking, and cleaning
                  3. DSP will work closely with the residents and manager of the home to plan
                      daily activities to include transportation to medical appointments during the
                      week and participation in preferred activities of the resident.
                  4. DSP will ensure residents safety and maximize their physical, emotional,
                      intellectual, and spiritual abilities.
                  5. DSP will practice work safety principles and techniques.
                  6. DSP will adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
                  

    The ideal candidate will posses the following:
    • Be 18 years of age or older
    • Posses a high school diploma/GED (Preferred)
    • CPR and First Aid Certified (Required)
    • 1 year of Caregiving Experience (Preferred)
    • Posses a Valid Driver's License (Must maintain a good driving record for 2 years)
    • Must pass a criminal background check
    Standard Company Requirements:
    • Must comply with Safety, Health and Environmental plan, policies and procedures.
    • Must comply with the Quality Assurance plan, policies and procedures. 
    • Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance. 
    • Responsible for completing all required training. 
    • Perform other assignments and duties, as required.
